It is a mistake to think that meditation can bring us this or that. Meditation is really meant to be fun. Meditation should not be seen as a kind of task you have to accomplish.

It’s not like going to the doctor to get prescription drugs. If you come to meditation with such an approach, you are not meditating at all.

Meditation has no purpose.

This is to get in touch with You. You are covered with thoughts, emotions and passions. To get in touch with you, you have to throw them away.

If you do not know where to start, just sit down in a quiet and comfortable place by closing your eyes and watching.

1. What is Mindfulness Meditation?

Ноwеvеr, аll thіs оbsеrvаtіоn іs dоnе frоm а thіrd раrtу роіnt оf vіеw, wіth nо аttеmрt to judge, tо dеnу оr to blосk thе thоughts оr tо dіstrасt frоm thе сіrсumstаnсеs.

2. The Present Moment

The term ‘PRESENT MOMENT’ is not something that can be grasped at once, because it is a process that is not tangible and that we cannot explain too much, otherwise, it loses its meaning.

The mind cannot hold the present moment. Because the mind is merely thoughts and the thoughts are only about objets in the past or in the future.

That’s why the present moment cannot be grasped intellectually.

You can begin to practice mindfulness meditation by trying this little exercise. Eckhart Tolle wrote a book called “The Power Of Now” which I strongly advise if you want to grasp the term ‘present moment’.

3. How to practice mindfulness meditation?

Find a free moment. Maybe, you can do this during your break at the office for example.

Find a calm and quiet place where you will not be disturbed. It is quite conceivable to sit on a chair. You do not need to put yourself in the lotus position like the Hindu sages.

Hold your spine straight, without forcing it. Your feet should touch the ground and should not be crossed. It is very important that your body, your muscles be relaxed.

Focus on your breathing. Do three to five deep breaths to harmonize your body energy.

Just by the way, you notice that you can control your breathing and if you do not pay attention, it works by itself. Therefore, breathing is happening. Just as your thoughts, your emotions, they are happening. It’s not something you do, they’re just happening. Meditation also is happening, it’s not a grim duty.

Consequently, if you practice mindfulness meditation often, you will notice that life is also happening. But this is another subject that will give me the opportunity to write another article.

How to Keep The Mind From Wandering During Mindfulness Meditation

Ok, now you are well relaxed and you are ready to observe what is going on around you. While you close your eyes, listen to the sounds around you but do not pay any special attention.

You are simply watching what is happening. Do not try to follow any noise. These noises do not bother you. These are just noises.

Furthermore, you will also notice that thoughts come and go, therefore, they do not warn when they arrive or when they leave, it is normal, they are thoughts, they behave exactly like the noises.

Stay still, and do not try to follow your thoughts. Let them emerge and leave without following them. There is not one thought that is more important than another, they are all background noises.

Your doing is to observe everything that happens around you without trying to change anything, without judging anything, without calling anything good or bad.

In conclusion, if you remain in this state of being, you will grasp something very important.

It seems that you will not be able to define your body and your environment, immediate or distant, that is the entire universe, You are a single entity.

You can no longer distinguish what is your interior from your exterior. This is how to practice mindfulness meditation.

Іt gіvеs аn еntіrе nеw реrsресtіvе tоwаrds unіvеrsе аnd іndіvіduаls.
